NEAR-PUBLICATION DRAFT. Verify the privacy mailbox is monitored and re-check the production site immediately before publication. This notice must change before analytics, advertising, non-essential storage or third-party tracking is introduced.
1. The short version
If you do not sign in, SwiftRegistry currently sets no cookies.
If you sign in, SwiftRegistry sets one authentication cookie to keep you signed in. There is currently no analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking or third-party marketing cookie.
2. The cookie we set
| Cookie | When it is set | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-better-auth.session_token | When you sign in over HTTPS | Keeps your authenticated session active as you move between pages | Up to 7 days |
On non-HTTPS development environments the same authentication mechanism may use the name better-auth.session_token. Production uses HTTPS.
The production cookie is marked HttpOnly, so ordinary browser scripts cannot read it; Secure, so it is sent only over an encrypted HTTPS connection; and SameSite=Lax, which limits how the cookie is sent in cross-site contexts. It is scoped to the site path.
Signing out ends the authenticated session.
3. What we do not currently use
No analytics or tag-management cookies.
No advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
No session-recording technology.
No third-party scripts loaded into pages for tracking or marketing.
No web fonts fetched from another company's servers when a page loads; the current typeface is packaged with the application at build time.
4. Why there is no cookie banner
UK rules do not require consent for a cookie or similar technology that is strictly necessary to provide an online service the user has requested. The current authentication cookie is used only to provide the signed-in session requested by the user.
We therefore provide information about the cookie rather than asking for consent to a cookie without which sign-in would not work.
If we introduce analytics, advertising, personalisation or other non-essential storage or access technologies, we will update this notice and implement any consent or objection mechanism required by law before those technologies are used.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. If you block or delete the SwiftRegistry authentication cookie, you will not be able to remain signed in.
